Butox Pour On is a specialized product used for the prevention and treatment of various external parasites in cattle and sheep. Here are the key features and instructions for using Butox Pour On:

  1. External Parasite Prevention and Treatment: Butox Pour On is effective against flies, keds, and lice. It can be used to prevent and treat these parasites in both cattle and sheep.

  2. Dosage for Cattle: The recommended dosage for cattle depends on their weight. Cattle weighing up to 100 kg should receive a 10 ml dose. Cattle weighing between 100 kg and 300 kg should receive 20 ml, while cattle over 300 kg should receive a 30 ml topical application.

  3. Dosage for Lice and Keds: For the prevention and treatment of biting and sucking lice on calves, adult cattle, and sheep, a 10 ml dose per animal is recommended, irrespective of their weight. Similarly, for sheep keds, a 10 ml application is recommended.

  4. Administration: Butox Pour On should be applied by pouring it along the animal's spine, from the base of the head to the tail. For sheep, it is advised to part the fleece during administration to ensure the active ingredient reaches closer to the skin.

  5. Precautions: Do not use Butox Pour On in animals with a known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. Calves should not be treated if they are less than 7 days old. The milk withdrawal period for both sheep and cattle is 12 hours. The withdrawal period for cattle meat is 18 days, while for sheep meat it is 48 hours.

  6. Benefits: Butox Pour On provides a standardized dose based on bodyweight, covering a range of parasites in both cattle and sheep. The pour-on application method reduces stress for both the handler and the animals. By effectively managing parasites, you can prevent production losses and minimize animal stress.

It is essential to follow the instructions and precautions provided with the product for safe and effective use. For specific guidance regarding parasite management and the use of Butox Pour On, consulting a veterinarian or livestock specialist is recommended.
